Title: Re: SAVAGE TIMING.... Post by IronRebel on 02/14/04 at 16:36:29 There are two sets of marks that need to be lined up. One is on the right side of the camshaft (two lines that have to be linedup horizontally. The other set is on the rotor. There is a line and to the right of that there is a T. Lineup the line (not the T) with the mark on the crankcase (left side just above the rotor) These marks all have to lineup when you have the camchain on. Be sure to double check because I found that you can line them up properly with the chain off, but...it shifts a little once the spring loaded camchain adjuster puts pressure on it. You really need to get yourself a Clymer manual. It's impossible to do critical repairs without one. Hope this helps. |
