Hey all...

I am dismantling my savage this winter just to see how things come off and go on. Seats, tank, front fender, etc. I also have an oil leak that may be coming from somewhere near the top of the jug. I have been told it may be the oil plug and I am going to look there first. However, I have found a gasket set on ebay but it says that it fits only an 86 - 98 model Savage. I asked the seller if it would work for my 01 Savage but he wasnt sure. Anybody got any ideas?

Make sure when you remove the rear fender struts, that you put cardboard or something between the struts and the fender before unbolting completely. Our fearless website administrator can send you pics of his scratched to hell fender that will make you a believer ::poke poke::: ::)

I had an oil leak in around the same area and it turned out to be head gasket.
