Title: Open Road Post by txhutch on 07/22/04 at 12:34:15 Had my '01 for more than a year and put about 11k miles on it so far. It's my daily transportation, and my trip to work has lengthened to 35 miles/45 minutes one-way. I cruise between 55 and 60 mph generally. Am I on pace to wear my Savage out prematurely or can I keep this kind of riding up (as long as my butt holds out)? |
Title: Re: Open Road Post by Greg_650 on 07/22/04 at 14:05:50 Just keep an eye on the condition of the belt. I think someone mentioned having +50K on theirs and still going strong. You may need to get a spare butt to keep in your saddle bags though ::) |
Title: Re: Open Road Post by thehoghunter on 07/22/04 at 14:06:36 That's a good amount of miles on the bike in one year - as long as you keep the oil changes going when scheduled and the other required maintenance when scheduled, there is no reason you can't keep going. |
Title: Re: Open Road Post by Pat B on 08/02/04 at 06:47:40 I hope that type of mileage isn't bad. When the weather is nice I go about 100 miles a day, 6 days a week. Crusin mostly 60-70, with short runs of 40-50 for some towns, 25 for others. |
