That's the one, behind the kickstand just behind the frame tube. It takes a 17mm spanner . Cannot be much different from the Savage. ;D

Just to be sure...the plug faces to the left side of the frame tube.

Yes, if you are using sitting on the bike as a reference.  When on the kickstand it is on the low side of the engine case.  There are 2 other 17mm headed bolts on the other side, but I don't know what they do.

I'll tell you:
The one facing forward ( when sitting on the bike) ;D is for the connection of a oilpressure gauge. The one pointing down ( when the bike is on the black rubbers)  ;D is for draining the oilfilter cavity. Never used because it's almost unreacheable.

Thanks for the info.
Like you said the filter drain (learned something new there) is almost unreachable, and I didn't need it when I changed my oil.

Also, when you think that all the oil has drained out of the drain plug, hold the bike vertical for a couple minutes and let it drain from the left hand side case....that area will still hold a little with the bike on the side stand.

I always hold the bike up in the air and shake it a few times to get the last few drops out.

uh hunh.

;)

And to get ALL the oil out you have to split the crankcase and clean it out with a lintfree cloth. ;D ;D

Any more suggestions mr. piston? ;)

Greg's last message is correct.  Tilt it up...

I like the idea of splitting the cases too  ::)
