Title: Replacing the clutch perch Post by bassman29 on 10/25/04 at 18:52:17 While swapping handlebars a couple weeks ago, I discovered that my clutch perch was broken - the part that clamps to the handlebar is in two pieces. There is just enough grab remaining to hold it up, although it will slip a little when riding into a stiff wind. http://home.neb.rr.com/dmorris29/clutch%20perch%20bracket.jpg Does this part slide onto the bar from the bar end? If so I guess I will have to remove the hand grip to replace it, es correcto? |

Title: Re: Replacing the clutch perch Post by bassman29 on 10/26/04 at 05:05:55 Ay caramba!! Gracias, muchachos. I guess I should have thought about the consequences of putting on that new grip a bit more thoroughly when I discovered the break. I hope I can get the Kuryakyn off without tearing it up. Maybe I'll just live with it for now. |

Title: Re: Replacing the clutch perch Post by thehoghunter on 10/26/04 at 05:41:52 You want to replace or fix it - nothing worse than going to grab for clutch or brake and finding out it's not there (because it was loose and slipped down out of reach)!! And be careful when tightening them back up (mine came loose - clutch) - it will strip out very easily! |

Is the Kuryakyn glued on? Darn. Well, maybe a nice shiny pair of vise grips will hold it in place for the rest of the season.....just kidding :-/ |
