Title: Re: hiway pegs Post by Old Geezer on 11/12/04 at 12:33:32 If you attach to the frame, you will need extensions or the pegs will be so close to the frame, they won't really provide much comfort.  Also, you will need something to kick them away from the exhaust a bit.  In my opinion, I'd nut it up and get the engine guard.

Title: Re: hiway pegs Post by savagethumper on 11/12/04 at 20:02:29 I found some metal tubing at work that was about an inch in diameter, and some rubber grips for each side.  I really thought I had this figured out, till I put it on the bike.  I mounted it across the frame with a fancy clamp used for electrical stuff.  The only problem was whenever I put my feet on it, my knees were nearly in my chest.  They needed to be so far out that it would interfere with the front wheel steering.  So needless to say, they came off.

I tried clamp-on pegs on my engine guard, but I felt that my knees were too high also.  Felt awkward, so off they came.
