Title: SuzukiSavage needs YOUR help... Post by John Himmelberger on 03/28/05 at 11:38:50 SuzukiSavage.com has no regular wealthy sponsors, nor a serious business model. Naturally, SuzukiSavage.com requires funds to operate, due to Internet line costs and the same hardware upgrade issues everyone experiences. For this reason, I am asking for your help. I don't want to fill this site up with pop-up's and unsightly advertising. I like our community ad free! For more information on how you can help please visit: http://suzukisavage.com/donations.html ------- Topic title edited by Susan from "I need your help" to "SuzukiSavage.com needs YOUR help" |

Title: Re: I need your help... Post by Susan on 03/28/05 at 11:48:55 Hi all, I just wanted to chime in and let all the newcomers know that John H is the real deal. He developed this site and pays for it out of his own funds. The cost has gone up quite a bit in the last year as usage has increased dramatically. We are getting about 8,000 visits a month and have had over 725,000 hits this month so far!! If we could get 30 people to donate $15 each, that should cover our hosting costs. John is not asking for anything for his time. Some of you may not have any bucks to donate and if that's the case, then we all understand. But if you can spare a little cash, please help support our site! ;D ;D ;D |

Title: Re: SuzukiSavage needs YOUR help... Post by sluggo on 03/28/05 at 21:02:50 as a regular poster here at suzukisavage.com i am more than happy to kick in a few bucks to keep it ad free. it just means a couple less hours partying this month. i also ask that you "lurkers" throw something in the pot. i know you are out there by the number of people that read a posts vs people who post. it's not alot to ask. you know what father quido sarduci said "you gotta pay for your sins" say lying 50 cents, cheating 75 cents, masterbating 37 cents. i just hope when i get to the pearly gates i'm not 37 cents short. :o |

Perhaps the reason the readers outnumber the posters is that most of us "lurkers" think first, and type later. Quite a concept eh? I will be doing my part and contributing, because John and susan elequently asked for help. One being owner, and one moderator. cheers Michael Michael |

Title: Re: SuzukiSavage needs YOUR help... Post by gazab44 on 03/29/05 at 08:58:30 Hello from the uk just paypalled your account, hope it helps. anything to keep it add free is worth it. sluggo have you thought that some of us "LURKERS" may be new to the savage and have very little advice to give at the moment....but in time with advice from people like yourself and our own expiriences we will be able to contribute and offer advice ourselves to other "LURKERS" ;) |
|
Title: Re: SuzukiSavage needs YOUR help... Post by Savage_Rob on 03/29/05 at 09:14:15 Maybe I missed it but I didn't see Sluggo's comments as denigrating "lurkers" at all... more like just acknowledging their existence. |

Title: Re: SuzukiSavage needs YOUR help... Post by Red_Wine on 03/29/05 at 12:19:55 My paycheck is not here yet, and my son's first month of school, car and bike registration papers and emmissions, as well as normal bill got me broke until Thursday... I'll send a money order to you, John Friday afternoon. I have enjoyed the site in the last year much more than I'll contribute... ;D Take care, RW |

Title: Re: SuzukiSavage needs YOUR help... Post by John Himmelberger on 03/29/05 at 13:27:59 First off I wanna says "Thanks" I truly appreciate your support. It is my pleasure serving you guys through this site. HotFix wrote:
When I opened my paypal account (several years ago) I opened it for another site that I run, 'ihateyour.com'. So if and when you click on the "Make a Donation" button it does reference 'ihateyour.com' since that is the name the paypal account was created under. Sorry about the confusion. Title: Re: SuzukiSavage needs YOUR help... Post by CHRIS on 04/01/05 at 20:12:22 JUST FOUND THIS SITE A SHORT TIME AGO, AND YES, BEEN LURKING A LITTLE, BUT I'M ACTUALLY A MECHANIC FOR A SUZUKI DEALERSHIP HERE IN WESTERN MARYLAND AND WILL BE PURCHASING A NEW S40 VERY SOON AND JUST WANTED TO SEE WHAT KIND OF INFO. I COULD GET ON ACCESSORIES AND WHAT NOT FROM THIS SITE. SUZUKI DOES NOT OFFER MUCH IN THE WAY OF ACCESSORIES FOR THIS BIKE. I MUST SAY, IT MAKES MY DECISION TO BUY A REAL EASY ONE! I WILL BE SENDING A "WELL DESERVED DONATION" VERY SHORTLY. EVERYONE KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!!!! |

Title: Re: SuzukiSavage needs YOUR help... Post by Savage_Rob on 04/01/05 at 20:57:07 Hey! You can be the first Suzuki mechanic to actually fix the head seal plug when someone brings theirs in for the 600 mile service instead of sending it out to leak. |

Title: Re: SuzukiSavage needs YOUR help... Post by John Himmelberger on 04/02/05 at 08:40:33 I have serveral domains that I run, so I actually co-locate a server with Olypen which does not fall under either of those plans. OlyPen is very competitive for co-location. I have been with them for the last 7 years and have no plans of changing. They have been stellar over this period and provide a wealth of information and service. Plus I can drive 5 blocks and see them face to face. Simply put OlyPen rocks! |

Title: Re: SuzukiSavage needs YOUR help... Post by lancer on 04/02/05 at 10:36:37 I have enjoyed this site for some time now and consider it more an honor than an obligation to be able to contribute to this cause. Please accept my appreciation for all of your hard work on our behalf. Like some others here, I am on a fixed income, and I just wish I could give more. |
