Title: Ugliest Bike Contest Post by savagethumper on 03/28/05 at 19:43:32 OK, so it's not really a contest, but I'm curious, just what do you all think is the ugliest bike in production. Just production models. Any year. Any make. This is not gonna turn into a HD bashing either. I know everyone is gonna have a different answer, so here's mine..... http://powersports.honda.com/assets/images/model/model_hero_shot/motorcycles/2004/small/Rune_medium_01.jpg I'm sorry if I offend anyone who likes this bike, but it has to be the biggest, gawdiest, overpriced, overweight bike around. The only redeeming quality it has are it's wheels. |

nope on the wheels. mag wheels belong on cars, spokes belong on bikes and a cage or two. 8) |

i dont know if this qualifies, but it's my old gn400 sitting in the scrap heap. :( . darn i loved that machine. i was trying so hard to make 100,000 miles, fell 2,000 miles short. :-[ it did give up it's fenders for my bobber, along with a few assorted brackets and nuts and bolts http://predator.bikepics.com/pics/suzuki-savage-04-bikepics-319983.jpg |

Title: Re: Ugliest Bike Contest Post by Paladin on 03/28/05 at 20:25:22 The Valkyre Rune, 1.8 liters, 800 pounds, $25G. I kinda like it. For me there are so many that I cannot choose between them -- ALL of the "sport" bikes are Ugly. If I were to ever get one I would have to remove the fairings and bob the butt. |

Title: Re: Ugliest Bike Contest Post by WD on 03/28/05 at 22:26:59 Ugliest bike? Man, it's so hard to decide...anything with more than one headlight, HD "Moo-Glide" (liked the bike, but the Holstein hair-on hide was awful), late model so-called Excelsior Henderson Super-X, late model so-called Indians, any Goldwing(just too heavy). Flip a coin, they all worked flawlessly, I just think they are ugly. -WD |

Title: Re: Ugliest Bike Contest Post by Greg_650 on 03/30/05 at 19:44:09 I think the Rune is gaudy. Everything is over done and the front suspension is too complex. The exhaust is too big. There is no detail to the engine (where is it?). And I don't like the fender lines....they don't flow to the rear. Ugly? I got one 8) or it is just wierd? http://home.comcast.net/~gmdinusa/guitbike.jpg |

Title: Re: Ugliest Bike Contest Post by WD on 03/30/05 at 21:30:32 Rune or Goldwing: if I wanted an Accord or Civic engine, I'd buy a car! BMW: if I wanted a Subaru... You think that guitar bike is ugly? Ever see the Road Dog? Or Jesse James' Peterbuilt engined trike? :-X (so I don'tfoul the keyboard ;D) -WD |
|
Title: Re: Ugliest Bike Contest Post by Greg_650 on 03/31/05 at 05:23:34 I have the Road Dog on my PC, but I can't find it ??? |

Title: Re: Ugliest Bike Contest Post by gitarzan on 04/03/05 at 11:33:35 I'm still twerked at Honda for dropping the Valkyrie and replacing it with the Rune. The Valk was an awesome bike. The Rune just looks too swoopy and car-like. I read that that Japanese makers were preparing to introduce "factory customs" I think the Rune is the tip of the iceberg. |

Title: Re: Ugliest Bike Contest Post by savagethumper on 04/03/05 at 17:51:18 I know that people are getting sick of the OCC, and West Coast Chopper thing, but Jesse James made an awesome example of the Honda 1800 cc cruiser. He turned it into a Cafe' racer, and it looked sweet. If I find the article, I'll post a pic. It would have been my favorite, but it's not production. |

Title: Re: Ugliest Bike Contest Post by WD on 04/04/05 at 01:09:41 It is on a January or February Cycle World cover. NICE bike, if you like the cafe bikes. I like the cafe style bikes. -WD |

Title: Re: Ugliest Bike Contest Post by Mr 650 on 05/18/05 at 03:28:56 http://www.americanhotdogcarts.com/images/ice-bike-front.jpg I like cafe bikes too. :) 2 dogs w/ chili cheese & onions |

Title: Re: Ugliest Bike Contest Post by lordzamize on 05/18/05 at 05:26:36 For me, the Rune is pretty ugly. The picture doesn't do it justice though. A neighbor down the road from my parents house has one, and seeing it in person bumps up the ugly scale by a few points. Z |

Title: Re: Ugliest Bike Contest Post by lancer on 05/18/05 at 06:04:04 I want to chili-cheese with extra pickles on top, BBQ chips and a DP....ON THE HOUSE DID YOU SAY? |

Title: Re: Ugliest Bike Contest Post by Kiwi_Mark on 06/30/05 at 04:25:04 The ugliest bike must be that POLICE bike in your mirror with its red + blues flashing !!! |

Title: Re: Ugliest Bike Contest Post by Reelthing on 06/30/05 at 20:42:45 Well maybe that is a nasty looking gold wing, but this triumphhhhhhh or what ever it is mostly rates some place on the list! http://ratbike.org/photos/y58trium.jpg |

Title: Re: Ugliest Bike Contest Post by Jim_R on 07/01/05 at 16:06:05 ok if u hated the rune u will really hate this one. http://www.allpar.com/cars/concepts/tomahawk.html i wonder how heavy it is.. The 1500 lb Tomahawk can go zero to 60 in 2.5 seconds, and has an estimated top speed of 300+ mph. There's not really a chassis - the suspension bolts to engine-mounted plates. And, the Tomahawk is made of solid billet castings or billet machinings. |
|
Title: Re: Ugliest Bike Contest Post by GITARZAN on 07/01/05 at 20:46:58 The Tomahawks also sold for $555,000. Must be all that billet. :o |

OK, there goes my Sunday afternoon mindset....Kind of like some song tune that you can't seem to get out of your head...it just keeps repeating over and over and over and........................................and no, I do not think I need a used seat any time soon. Now it is time for you to go back into your closet and close the door. You can come back out later when you can be a good boy. |
