Title: My new shorty pipe . . . Post by RG on 03/31/05 at 14:11:11 I don't know how all of you feel about shorty pipes, but I love 'em. I just did this to my bike last week. All I did was go down to Shucks and get a chrome exhaust tip. It's obviously much louder now. It's pretty harsh sounding but I'm okay with that. I am working on a baffle, but haven't really figured anything out yet. Please let me know what you guys think about how it looks. Title: Re: My new shorty pipe . . . Post by WD on 04/02/05 at 02:12:28 RG, take the stubby to the local HD shop. There are universal drop in baffles, pretty inexpensive. Very little restriction. You know how pipes are checked around here? If it is a large bore pipe, if a nightstick can be stuck into the pipe, the pipe is illegal. The drop in baffle prevents that without impeding much of the exhaust flow. Of course, red rear turn signals are legal here, so are apehangers, reflector deletion, all kinds of oddball stuff. ;D About the only thing positive I can say about western washington state, nice place to visit, but if I hadn't been born here... -WD |
