Title: Front disc pads Post by lancer on 04/02/05 at 10:12:54 What are the best pads to use for the front disc? Are OEM the ones to go with or is there an aftermarket supplier that makes a better one? Thanks for the help. |

Title: Re: Front disc pads Post by Reelthing on 04/03/05 at 03:55:11 I'm still trying to settle up on that one. When I got the savage it had what I believe were metalic pads that would squeal if you just looked at them and the folks that put them on used nothing on the back of the pads - no grease or blue sticky stuff - I replaced these with organic pads from EBC - they work very well - no squeals and solid single stop performance - on repeative stops I think I feel some fad not bad but there - once these wear down a bit I have some SBS ceramic "street" pads hanging on the wall ready to try out. I understand EBC makes a better performing rotor than the stock one as well - it maybe cross drilled and vented - that sure wouldn't hurt. |

I use EBC too.... A drilled rotor is a cool idea too (literally).... |
Title: Re: Front disc pads Post by Kropatchek on 04/03/05 at 12:50:18 I installed the EBC drilled rotor. Eat up the metalic EBC brakepads within 100KM. Only the stationairy pad. Turned out that the drilled holes had not beed deburred. Don't say I did not warn you. Greetz Kropatchek ;D ;D |
