Title: Wingerline Highway Bars
Post by dadorfman on 04/03/05 at 14:06:37

I am also a member of a Yahoo Savage group.  One of the members of that group asked a question about alternatives to Suzuki's bars.  I had asked a similar question here and was pointed to the Wingerline Highway Bars.  Does anyone have a picture of those bars on their bike?

Rob
Can you tell me how far out do these bars extend past the foot peg?
Appreciate it and thanks

Better yet, do you feel the bars provide any protection for your lower leg, or any protection  for the engine?  Is their main purpose to hold highway pegs?

I'll have to measure tomorrow but it's a couple of inches or so, I think.  Yes, I feel they offer my legs some protection - especially in the event of a laydown.  When it comes to bouncing debris though, I think you have to just be lucky.  I prefer my leather legs (half-chaps) to hedge that bet.  I don't have any pegs mounted on them.  In fact, I either keep my heels on the pegs and angle my feet out to rest on the bars or occasionally put my feet on the tops of the bars themselves.  I usually only do that on long open stretches though as I prefer the better reaction time of having my feet on the pegs in the traffic I usually encounter in Dallas.
