Title: Wingerline Highway Bars Post by dadorfman on 04/03/05 at 14:06:37 I am also a member of a Yahoo Savage group. One of the members of that group asked a question about alternatives to Suzuki's bars. I had asked a similar question here and was pointed to the Wingerline Highway Bars. Does anyone have a picture of those bars on their bike? |

Title: Re: Wingerline Highway Bars Post by dadorfman on 04/04/05 at 18:30:17 Better yet, do you feel the bars provide any protection for your lower leg, or any protection for the engine? Is their main purpose to hold highway pegs? |
Title: Re: Wingerline Highway Bars Post by Savage_Rob on 04/04/05 at 20:51:54 I'll have to measure tomorrow but it's a couple of inches or so, I think. Yes, I feel they offer my legs some protection - especially in the event of a laydown. When it comes to bouncing debris though, I think you have to just be lucky. I prefer my leather legs (half-chaps) to hedge that bet. I don't have any pegs mounted on them. In fact, I either keep my heels on the pegs and angle my feet out to rest on the bars or occasionally put my feet on the tops of the bars themselves. I usually only do that on long open stretches though as I prefer the better reaction time of having my feet on the pegs in the traffic I usually encounter in Dallas. |
