Title: Latest project finaly in reassembly (NSR) Post by cphilip on 04/04/05 at 16:04:43 Let me know if these are boring you... This is the 1971 Vespa "Super 150" I am doing for my Boss's wife. This was one of my $500 solid body finds. The latest priority is this one. Still in the shop is a Smallframe race bike and the 61 Allstate to do. But we pushing this one along while getting ready to paint the Smallframe. Something in a long string of projects for the next few months. We started reassembly this weekend. Painted it last weekend. This is a Blue that resulted from all the Metalic blues I mixed. R&M Diamonte with Clear Coat....And got this far (see "after" picture) Today I rebuilt the motor with new seals and bearings and a new crank and added a third intake port. When we got this it was missing the top end and had a slightly bent crank. So we are making it into a Three port motor since we had his slighly used 150 3 port top end sitting around. And there was plenty of meat in the case to add that third port. So we got all that done today. We will be about one more day getting the motor ready to put back in as we are waiting on new motor mounts. We removed the old ones so we wait... But here is the "before" picture (we just brought it back from Durham NC): http://scoot.net/gallery/bbs/Super150before1.jpg And the After (really "after" Sunday is what I mean): http://scoot.net/gallery/bbs/LisaSuperrebuild2.jpg http://scoot.net/gallery/bbs/LisaSuperrebuild1.jpg I will update this one when we finaly finish it. Waiting on some body rubber and a few odds and ends. She wants White body rubber (light grey really) and same in seats and grips. So thats been hard to locate. But it's coming... |
