Title: Looking for MAC muffler Post by Durandal on 04/05/05 at 15:11:10 Was looking around for the MAC muffler for my '01 Savage. Can't seem to find it. Anyone got a model number or can point me in the right direction? |
Title: Re: Looking for MAC muffler Post by Goose on 04/05/05 at 15:21:29 I ordered mine and my wifes from accessories international in Florida. They do have a web site and you can order from there or the toll free number. |
Title: Re: Looking for MAC muffler Post by Durandal on 04/05/05 at 15:24:43 I did find it online at macperformance.com. They list it as fitting the '86-'87 model. Am I correct in assuming it would also fit my '01? |

Title: Re: Looking for MAC muffler Post by Paladin on 04/05/05 at 17:31:25 I have Motorcycle Pro Shop (http://www.motorcycleproshop.com/detail.asp?product_id=003-0921) bookmarked -- $87.75 plus $22 shipping and handling plus $6.80 California Tax for those of us in LaLaLand. $116.55 to the door. More than http://www.accessoryinternational.com mentioned above. 1. Gotta change my bookmark. 2. Still thinking of a plain old automotive glasspack with a fishtail extention. |
Title: Re: Looking for MAC muffler Post by bobo383 on 04/05/05 at 17:44:31 Automotive glasspack is looking good to me right now. 1.75 inch diameter inlet dynomax is $19 thru Jeg's. |

Hey Paladin, how about this: Highway Hawk fishtail deluxe muffler: http://secure.cycleaccessoriesoutlet.com/str/customer/product.php?productid=1183&cat=331&page=2 |
Title: Re: Looking for MAC muffler Post by WD on 04/06/05 at 00:03:33 Anything from Highway Hawk is not going to last very long, at least not in good shape. Their parts look really nice, their chrome is very poor quality. On one of the other Savage forums, everyone who bought parts from HH ended up at the very least extremely disappointed, if not outright PO'd. European JC Whitney. -WD |
Title: Re: Looking for MAC muffler Post by gitarzan on 04/06/05 at 08:52:39 I bought a set of new chubby TBars from HH. The welding is ugly as sin. There's actually a small bit of rust around the base. I suspect that I'll be swapping them out for next summer's reincarnation. |
