Title: Carb/Muffler Question Post by Bluejeanz on 05/03/05 at 17:48:21 I have a K&N air filter on the way and I'm considering a Sportster muffler. My question is, do I have to both rejet the carb and the change the exhaust at the same time or can they be done independently. I'm still a little queasy about the carb thing... While you're at it...there's a set of highway pegs for a 96 savage on ebay...can I put those on my 2003 without any complicated modifications? |

If they are what I think they are, they just clamp on to the frame downtube with a couple of cheap u-bolts. The frames are the same. You SHOULD do the jet upsize when you do the muffler mod. I haven't done it yet (6 years after changing the exhaust). I need to, boy, do I need to... -WD |

Title: Re: Carb/Muffler Question Post by sunny on 05/04/05 at 11:35:51 to change the jet alone, you only remove the float bowl, the botom most part of the carb. nothing else needs to be removed. to do the white spacer you have to remove the carb. removal of the carb does not require removing either seat or tank. |
