Title: I might modify my seat
Post by babbalou on 05/08/05 at 20:16:28

The seat on my S40 is comfortable but I often want to scoot back just 2 or 3 more inches & that hump is there. I'm thinking of cutting off the part of the seat pan behind the 2 bolts & somehow giving it a flat profile straight back to the fender. Then I'd recover it & move the rectifier box somewhere else. Anyone tried this? If it's not feasible I may do the seat lift that I've found in your posts. (thanks!)  :-/

I would suggest trying the seat lift first.  I did it on my '01 and it made a world of difference.  Don't get me wrong, the stock seat on my Savage sucks as far as comfort goes.  But at least I'm not sliding forward all the time.

Sounds like you need to take a look under the seat.  Check page 3 in the topic "Paint".
