Title: Gottanutha Savage! Post by bobo383 on 07/11/05 at 17:43:08 1988, 4-speed, with the rare hole-in-piston option. All the metal is straight, all the parts are there, and I'm taking it down to check it out. It appears an exhaust valve broke off its stem and beat the crap out of the head & piston. Surprisingly, the cylinder is near perfect. Here's the pics: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y114/bobo383/savage/savagepiston.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y114/bobo383/savage/Savagecyl.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y114/bobo383/savage/Savageapart.jpg The bike is purple but faded. No dents anywhere - tank, fenders, side covers are all straight. I saw my Honda looking at it, but by the time I snapped the pic it had turned away like it didn't care. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y114/bobo383/savage/savagedenial.jpg |

Title: Re: Gottanutha Savage! Post by Reelthing on 07/12/05 at 08:20:40 I know why the Honda was looking - it's like the time a parrot kept cussin so it's owner tossed it in the freezer for awhile to chill out - well when he took the parrot out it apologized profusely for any and all indiscretions, and then asked by the way what did he do as the parrot pointed to the turkey..... |

Title: Re: Gottanutha Savage! Post by DavidV on 07/12/05 at 23:10:53 Congrats on the find, and thanks for bringing one back from the dead. Some folks would've parted it out, but I think we've got enough parts bikes, and not enough bikes. Let us know how it goes, eh? |

Title: Re: Gottanutha Savage! Post by Trippah on 07/13/05 at 16:04:24 The rare hole in the piston option- isn't that suppossed to increase the RPM's by lightening the piston?? ;) Looks kike you got a sumers' worth of fun. |

Yes, an exhaust valve broke off from its stem - right where the stem flares into the valve head. |
