Title: ebay dibbs -- left side cover

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=4564549347&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT

I intend on nailing it in the last seconds, up to $12, assuming no one else here wants it worse.

I hate piles of parts.  Better to fix the bike and sell it whole.

Better for whom?  A few years back we bought a '73 Camaro, sans engine, for $500.  Snagged the gauge package, sold the rest and made a nice profit.

It is said that an item is more than the sum of it's parts.

This is usually not true.  The monetary value of the sum of the parts is usually considerable more than the assembled whole.

Side covers are $60 each at work. Yeah, as in $120 for the pair. What a rip-off. They are USED!

The horrendous markup is to pay your salary.  If parts were sold for what they were worth rather than what people are willing to pay then you would have to work for free.  While you might be willing to do this, your bill collectors would complain.

A side cover is worth $20 to me, delivered.  Eventually I'll either get one or gut the center of the bike like others have done.

i got quoted $90 for an unpainted side cover, so 60 isnt bad.

It's two bits' worth of hydroformed piece of sheet metal.  (I once worked in 'pots and pans' at Douglas Aircraft.)

My used stuff tends to be priced at 50% of new retail. I told you they were a rip-off. And at a whopping $8.50 an hour, I basically am working for free... $20 bonus per used bike sold, plus "spiffs" for selling used parts. I get 15% off anything in the store, except bikes... >:( The last 3 employees to buy bikes there got croaked on them, so now, no bikes for current employees.
