on a 250 Ducati single, and twins & foursfollowing, and now back to that charming, beguiling, satisfying sensation of being pulled down the road with loads of torque. My Savage is an 02-totally stock.Only thing I did was go to the DPR7EA-9 plug as the original was black & sooty. It's ridden every day to work & weekly rides in the country. This is the best starting, least cold-blooded bike I've owned. Also the easiest one to find neutral on.I think the belt-drive makes it "smoother" to drive.Oil gets changed every 2000 k. Burns premium -no back-fires since snugging up header pipe nuts(just a wee bit)These bikes are a bargain!

Welcome aboard - and I'll sure agree on the bargain of these bikes, easy to fix, ride, maint, and perhaps the most fun - mod!

Thanks for the welcome.  I'm not very adventurous when it comes to modifications.  I tried rebuilding a two barrel for a Chev some years back and still have parts kicking around the house somewhere.

Hmmm, I wonder how a 2 barrell Weber would do on a modded Savage?

Welcome!

Although I've got several expensive bikes in the garage, I always throw a leg over my wife's Savage when I've got errands to run in town.

These bikes are great values and serve as wonderful urban assault vehicles!

As a bonus, I find myself volunteering to run all sorts of errands.
