If I understood correctly, that is a doctored photo intended to show what his project should look like.

My shocks are 13.5" eye to eye.  The ones in the picture are made by Progressive but are sold under another name, which excapes me at the moment.  I have another set of Progressive 13.5" that I may put on, but I have yet to decide which set I want to use.  The other set will be sold.

I did not think it was hard at all.  I jacked the bike up a few inches and put a 6x6 block under the engine case.  This got it up a little, leveled it, and let the swing-arm/wheel drop down a little.  I then removed the old shocks and installed the new ones.  I put on the bottom mount first, then lifted up on the fender while sliding the top of the shock on the bolt.  I took a little effort but was no big deal.
I can swap the shocks in about 15-20 minutes now.

**With these shocks being 13.5" I did remove the drive belt chrome cover, it rubbed on the front end of it a little.
If you use a 12" or shorter shock I doubt you would have to do that.
