I was wondering if the HD muffler bolts up to the savage bracket? I have seen the HD mufflers with one mounting hole and I have seen ones with what looks like two holes. The one with two holes looks like it might bolt right up to the savage bracket without any modification. Can anyone confirm this for me?

Some do and some don't. It depends on which model muffler, the bolt tabs vary with the motorcycle model they are made for.

It's simple enough to make a small brace from some flat stock to mount the muffler to the stock bracket.
