Title: Seat Upgrades Post by Circle_Burner on 09/21/05 at 07:03:48 I purchased a 2005 S40 for my wife and have a question about a seat upgrade. I noticed Suzuki has 2 upgrades they sell for the S40, both are gel type. Are they any good? Any other options? Thanks |

Title: Re: Seat Upgrades Post by Cindi Knox on 09/21/05 at 07:31:33 I haven't Suzuki's options, butt I will offer this recommendation: Russell Day-Long. They will rebuild your seat for you. For your height, weight, riding position. It will feel less comfortable in five minute sittings, but way more comfortable for hours in the saddle. I am not in any way affiliated with this company, I just had a Savage seat remade by them, and it is excellent. |

Title: Re: Seat Upgrades Post by vroom1776 on 09/21/05 at 08:44:32 there's a seat rasing section in the technical corner which may help. |

Title: Re: Seat Upgrades Post by barb36jack31 on 10/02/05 at 16:34:37 For Cindi Knox - I have used Russell Day-Long seats for many years, always with great result. BTW what did the seat cost ? I imagine the price is very high at yhis point in time. Jack H. |

Title: Re: Seat Upgrades Post by sluggo on 10/03/05 at 15:40:56 here's my solution. 9 inch solo springer seat. that combined with lots of saddle time (the only real way to cure monkee butt), and a couple of advil or aleve before a long ride http://www.bikepics.com/pics/pics/suzuki-savage-04-bikepics-377266.jpg |

Title: Re: Seat Upgrades Post by barb36jack31 on 10/04/05 at 14:11:50 For Savage Bob - Is the seat in your picture a complete seat, pan and all? Or is it a pad that goes on top of the stock seat? |

Title: Re: Seat Upgrades Post by Dan on 10/04/05 at 14:15:07 I have the pillow top gel seat as well, and it is fantastic (compared to the original). Seems a bit stiffer when you are on it initially (short rides), but the comfort on longer rides is SOOO much better. |

It's Rob and it is a complete seat replacement for the stock S40 seat, though it will easily fit a Savage too. Mine is a 98 Savage, so I can say that for sure. Several others on this board have done the same thing. |

Title: Re: Seat Upgrades Post by barb36jack31 on 10/05/05 at 14:53:53 Rob - Sorry about the name goof-up. Will have it straight from now on. Thanks for the info about the seat. My bike is a 2005 S40 so it should be OK. Thanks again. |

Title: Re: Seat Upgrades Post by DavidV on 10/06/05 at 06:08:39 Sluggo, Do you recall where you got your springer seat? Any particular issues getting it mounted? I guess there'd be a few brackets to fabricate. Thanks, David |
