Title: Rubber side down? THAT'S what I'm doing wrong! Post by oatmeal on 09/28/05 at 08:14:19 Hello. Title: Re: Rubber side down? THAT'S what I'm doing wrong! Post by RadarORiley on 09/28/05 at 10:09:00 Great looking bike! And rider. When I bought my bike, my husband threatened to have "this side up" painted on the top of the tank. I check it every time I get on to see if he has. He's quite the prankster so you have to watch him, I also check my jackets. |

Title: Re: Rubber side down? THAT'S what I'm doing wrong! Post by Edwin Adams on 09/28/05 at 17:58:33 Nice bike, nice photo. Good luck with it. I'm trying to convince myself to sell my HD Road King, and get a Savage. The decisiom would be easier if I were not 6'2". |

Title: Re: Rubber side down? THAT'S what I'm doing wrong! Post by Edwin Adams on 09/28/05 at 18:19:13 Thanks for the reply. You looked tall on the bike. I plan to go to BikeOctoberfest in October to ride one. I don't plan on any big trips on the Savage, so I think I will fit. If I find that the ride is "ok", great, if not I will look at an S50 (too much $). If all goes well, my Road King will to EBay. |

Title: Re: Rubber side down? THAT'S what I'm doing wrong! Post by Savage_Rob on 09/29/05 at 05:42:51 That red is nice. I've been considering some type of either red or orange whenever I someday get around to removing tank, fenders and such to repaint. |

Title: Re: Rubber side down? THAT'S what I'm doing wrong! Post by chriss on 09/29/05 at 23:59:39 Nice bike! Now buy a Supertrapp muffler, a jet kit, and a K@N air filter and really see what a 650 is capable of! |

Title: Re: Rubber side down? THAT'S what I'm doing wrong! Post by Starlifter on 10/02/05 at 14:06:17 ...yes, yes...a bald head is a solar panel on a "love machine" and all of that. :P Guess I'm still a long haired freeky dude from the 60's. 60 years old and I still have all of my hair, and now all of the younger guys are shaving their heads bald! ...go figure. ??? |

Title: Re: Rubber side down? THAT'S what I'm doing wrong! Post by Savage_Rob on 10/02/05 at 14:49:11 LOL! Well, I guess I'm just cursed with thick hair that only seems to gray instead of falling out. That said, I just crop it very short. I'm all about easy maintenance. |

You're kidding? That's me too, been graying since I was 13. It grows really freaking fast too - I've just discovered lately that I get almost a month between haircuts if I shave it when it is due to be cut. Makes for REALLY easy maintenance. I just happened to be due for a haircut right before I got the bike. Now I'm not bald anymore, it's about an eighth of an inch long now. |

I don't think mine started to gray much until my late 20's or early 30's but it's harder to tell because is a blond/brown mix anyway. The beard shows the white streaks well against the red. I haven't shaved the head clean since my Shellback initiation. I just opt for anything from a #2 attachment to a #7 attachment, depending on my mood. It's never long enough to require anything but the electric shears anymore. My wife says I just get in line with the sheep. |

Well, I do go for #2/#3 attachment on the sides and the #5/#6 on top but.... This helps too: Zubdana (http://www.zubwear.com/motorcycle.html); at least for me. |
