Title: 1939 Ford Tail Light Post by vroom1776 on 10/03/05 at 16:23:17 Hey folks, Thinking about spending $16 for this http://www.jcwhitney.com/wcsstore/jcwhitney/images/imagecache/10026582.gif;pv04d5e0b389d47393 to bolt to the bottom of my metal seat. We have a 12 V - ground system right? I mean, usually the negative is ground, and suzuki didn't do anything silly here, right? thanks, K |

Title: Re: 1939 Ford Tail Light Post by vroom1776 on 10/04/05 at 07:11:58 good point... however, if I were careless and bought something with a diode in it... pffft! What's that nasty smell? I will post pics... eventually. Don't forget, though, this is going on the bottom of my metal seat, not the stock fender... maybe I'll lay it on the fender and take a shot or two for you creative folks... |

Title: Re: 1939 Ford Tail Light Post by mpescatori on 10/06/05 at 01:11:55 Guys, how about this, on the sissybar? http://www.motocycle.co.uk/prod_images/010_546.jpg On the sissybar, as a second - high level brake light. This as a fender-mounted taillight http://www.holden.co.uk/prod_images/L549.jpg And these as side-taillights with indicators on stalks http://www.holden.co.uk/prod_images/010_062.jpg What say? Maurizio PS Sorry for the huge size, on Holden's website they are much smaller Front light project coming up... |

Title: Re: 1939 Ford Tail Light Post by mpescatori on 10/06/05 at 10:39:58 For the 'stoplight', it is a Miller's Replica, you can find it at www.motocycle.co.uk in their online catalogue, under 'taillights' For the MGA taillight and the dual indicator-cum-sidelamp, it's www.holden.co.uk, which is the parent company to 'motocycle' and has a link to it. If you explore their catalogues, you'll see what 'British motoring' is all about - they are extremely fond of the days from the '30s to the '60s, much more than we'd think. You can find headlights with built-in ammeters, mirrors to clip in the end of the handlebars, miniature instruments and mechanical gauges (copper capillaries instead of copper wires) 8) No, I do not worlk for them, but I really really think they have an absolutely SUPER line of items! ::) I'm looking at the 2.5" tacho by Smiths, almost 100$ new shipped, but it's the original item from the original '60s... :) http://www.motocycle.co.uk/prod_images/070_383.jpg Again, I apologize for the super size, why is it that it comes 4 times the size ? Title: Re: 1939 Ford Tail Light Post by Savage_Rob on 10/06/05 at 11:27:08 The board has a default image display size. There is code you can insert to specify the size you prefer but I don't know it off the top of my head. I know Mambo gave an example in a thread a couple of weeks ago. |
