Title: my 12 dolla tach
Post by Jim_R on 10/13/05 at 19:55:32

Hey I thought a tach would be neat for the heck of it.
Cant beat 12 dollars with shipping.  I am praying it is electric and not mechanical.  I looked at this tach and I swear I see a suzuki symbol on it..  It says suzuki tach but the 1977 enduro (when I google it) says yamaha.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=4579670337&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT
But I checked the tach of the yamaha and it goes to like 12000 rpm.

Well I hope I lucked out because it looks very similar to my speedo and I hope to mount it on my bars next to my sigma bc1600.  The tach also has a high beam indicator, turn signal thingy, and even a nuetral indicator.  I hope to find these wires AFTER i determine if its an electric or mech tach.  If its mech tach no big loss, ill ebay it back :)

I paid $50 (shipping included) for my used one.  Good deal.

1977?
I wish you luck, electronics were no way near the sophistication we have today, I remember hot rods with cutouts in the hood to fit engine tachs.

I will find out when it gets here.  I bought a "unknown" suzuki savage muffler off ebay once and it ended up being a Mac for like 20.00.  Here is for praying :)
