I just bought a Vance & Hines V16707 from Ebay (#4580248979), I am not sure, but for the price I was hoping to be able to use this on my '86 Savage.

Curious if anyone who'se done muffler mods have any idea if this muffler can fit or not? (If not it goes back to Ebay for more..)

If it fits on the pipe, with a crush gasket and brute force clamp it might work. I think the biggest problem u might have is actually mounting it on the frame. GOod luck

One thing I tried last year with my glasspacks is using 2 stainless steel hose clamps. I pulled the rubber washers out of the bracket where the bolts go & I pushed the hose clamps through & around the muffler. Didn't look as bad as it sounds. I made sure the thread grooves were underneath & out of sight.
I bought a nice looking muffler from Lancer last month but I haven't put it on yet 'cause I'll be taking it off again when my new tire comes in from the dealer. It's been a month! I may cancel it & get a Metzler.

Try J and P cycles "P" clamps.... I saw those in with the generic exhast.
