Title: riding partner gone
Post by sluggo on 10/16/05 at 18:35:49

so, i was warming up ole thumper, my dog t.c. was all excited to go on a ride.  he hears a truck coming chases it, comes back.  then hears another car  ran out and got mowed over, it was ugly.  needless to say  i didn't go for my ride. still am pretty bummed about the whole thing. i tried to stop him but he just had to chase the darn thing.  the woman who hit him was pretty freaked out. i told her it wasnt her fault gave her a hug and sent her on her way.

take care t.c.   i hope all dogs go to heaven.

Always tough to lose a dog. I had an American Eskimo for 13 1/2 years & he died of cancer in April 2002. Still hurts.

Sorry to hear about it. At least the driver had the character to stop and talk to you. I witnessed one years ago where the driver just drove off and left a kid crying in the street.

T.C. was so adorable. I'm so sorry!   :'(

In doggie heaven there is plenty of space to run, cats to chase and there are yummy bones buried everywhere.

I keep Ducati the Cat in so that doesn't happen to her.

Very sorry Sluggo. You bet that our animal companions will be at the gates of heaven waiting for us. If this were not so, it would NOT be "heaven!"
Congrats on your new family member! I am a cat person myself, and as soon as one goes to heaven, the next one shows up a homeless stray on the door step...funny how that works.

:'(  Sluggo, I am so very sorry to hear of your loss.  It is never easy to lose a good friend and I know that T.C. was a much happier dog in the time he had with you. Cherish the memories.  T.C. will be waiting for you and his next ride.

Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Heaven?  A dog that size chasing cages?  That's a warrior.  He's gone to Valhalla, escorted by some babe Valkyries.  He's buffin' up to kick some cage @ss when Ragnarok rolls around.

That was very well said!!  Still, in heaven he will have the oportunity to do all that AND actually tear the cagers apart into little pieces...  so it goes over and over again till he gets tired!!
