Title: Progressive 411 shocks for Sportster Post by 650-rider on 12/06/05 at 14:29:12 Could someone please let me know if Harley Sportster shocks, made by Progressive, will work on a Savage? They are model 411, and 11" long. But will the bolt holes be the same size? I was hoping someone may have already checked this out and could save some time. Also, would the shocks be right since the Sportster is heavier than the Savage? Here is a link to the shocks on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PROGRESSIVE-412-XL-SPORTSTER-FXR-11-CHROME-SHOCKS_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ35569QQitemZ4595111612QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW Thanks, Brian |

Title: Re: Progressive 411 shocks for Sportster Post by Reelthing on 12/06/05 at 14:52:32 that's a 412-4005c - 11" 90/130lb that's a excellent size and spring rate - depending on the weight your going to carry - me im 180lb and the 90/130 work outstand at the second click and a little stiffer on the 3rd you could get in a little bolt hole problem but not much of one - how ever the 412-423x shocks have sleeves that perfect fit the savage shock bolts How much weight you going to put on the bike - solo or dual riders? the $163+$10 shipping is not very special - let me look up where mine came from |

Title: Re: Progressive 411 shocks for Sportster Post by lancer on 12/06/05 at 22:15:11 The sportsters usually have 1/2" holes, while the Savage has 14mm. You can contact Progressive directly and get a set of 14mm bushings for $8 plus shp. Order ahead because it takes a couple of weeks for the bushings to arrive. |
