Title: What would happen if I turned the motor clockwise? Post by Neil on 12/19/05 at 11:55:58 In looking through some old posts, i realized that I've been following the Clymer manual and turning the motor the wrong way. I have the motor out of the bike, and have torn it down, and am in the process of rebuilding it. During the process, i've been turning the motor clockwise. Obviously, from this point on, i'll turn it the correct way (counterclockwise). But, my question is, did I do any damage? |

Title: Re: What would happen if I turned the motor clockw Post by Max_Morley on 12/20/05 at 11:38:42 Only if the cam chain pins/plates and gears are worn lots and the tensioner isn't working correctly will it cause a valve to be open when the piston is close enough to bend it. I know it works this way on a little Honda single because as the T-shirt says, "been there, done that". Max |
