I just found all this crap under my girlfriends bike and was wondering if it is nessary, We don"t have emission or inspection here in Fla. Does anyone know if it will run better without this stuff and if so do I have to cap off all these hoses?

it shouldn't make any difference, the air in this box should consist of vapours from carb+battery+engine and nothing else.

Take all that garbage away and put it on Ebay. If nobody buys it , keep the hoses. They are good stuff. Just make sure to plug the vac. port on the intake side.

Thanks , I'll get her bike to run right sooner or later.Finally talked her into a sportster muffler now to fix the carb.

I can e-mail you a 20 second sound bite of a sportster muffler if you want to hear it before you buy one.

Thanks but I just bought one, If she don't like it I'll put the stock one back on.
