Title: Sportster Shocks Post by SAMM on 01/02/06 at 19:40:52 I just installed a pair of New to me Sportster take off shocks with 0 miles on them..I had to press out the top and bottom bushings with a vice and install the Savage bushings to make them fit..What an improvement over the old original shocks !! and I havent even tried the other settings (on lowest position now) The original shocks are 10.5 in. tall center to center...The Sportster shocks are 11.5...I measured before and after and found 1 in. longer in shock raised the fender 2 in. I had to remove the lower belt guard as it did hit the belt guide.. The guard could be ground down to fit but I like the look without it....
