Title: Last seat question OEM or Fab. Post by russ_g on 04/11/06 at 13:00:34 Just trying to decide which is more comfortable and easier to install. The Suzuki one piece gel seats (pillow), or some of the Sportster conversions available on Ebay. Anyone tried both? I'd like to clean up my 96 and get rid of the seat and sissy bar and go with the one piece style. what have other's done for the two chrome accents on the side of the rear fender? Just remove or replace with something else? |

Title: Re: Last seat question OEM or Fab. Post by USCG Cremeans on 04/11/06 at 15:50:32 A lot of people remove the chrome side rails, a lot of people replace them with newr s40 side rails that don't hook up to a sissy bar, and some people leave them on without the sissy bar in. Others also make or buy a "grab bar" to put in where the sissy bar was. I am planning on making a grab bar as soon as i find the right metal tubing.. here are some pics: Rails Removed (SAMM's bike) = http://img439.imageshack.us/img439/5375/dsci00215pk.jpg S40 Rails (Tom_R's Bike) = http://www.bikepics.com/pics/pics/suzuki-savage-01-bikepics-520194.jpg Rails on, no sissybar (my bike) = http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e12/jcbass7/Suzuki%20Savage/8.jpg Grab Bar (No clue who's bike this is) = http://suzukisavage.com/gallery/LSvenss5.jpg Hope this helps |

Title: Re: Last seat question OEM or Fab. Post by russ_g on 04/12/06 at 06:56:53 I like the S40 rails or the grab bar the most. Anyone have some s40 rails they want to part with? |

Title: Re: Last seat question OEM or Fab. Post by Jim_R on 04/12/06 at 07:08:36 I love the grab bar. I like the chrome rail look but I think the short sissybar isnt what I want at all. I think it just sticks out and interupts the flow of the lines of the bike. i would make one but I dont want to have to pay for it to be chromed. Maybe if I had someone bend some stainless steel. |

Title: Re: Last seat question OEM or Fab. Post by Odar on 04/12/06 at 14:58:16 The bike with the short grab bar is mine, Odar and I live in Sweden. Here is a link to my site, its my bike and some other peoples bikes as well, there is even a link to my other bike at the bottom. As you can see I did change the seat to a lower one to make the "flow" be a little better then with the stock seat. Link: http://wb524292.bahnhofbredband.se/sida3.htm Take care Odar |

Sorry Odar for mentioning the German bike as reference. The blinkers are place more rearward as on my bike and I have seen that only on German bikes. Greetz Kropatchek ;D |
