I don't know of anywhere in L.A. that is not pay before you pump. Gasoline has been climbing steadily the last month or so -- $2.899/gal for regular. $8.49 for a tankfull.

Not topping off just means you switch to reserve earlier. Not switching back to main means you get to push to the gas station instead of riding on reserve.

It's something that happens -- sort of like the burning end of a cigarette falling off into your lap while driving.

yea, regular unl. $2.79-$2.89 here in NC so don't feel too bad. And just think summer hasn't even gotten here yet. :-/

Over here the "liter" is at 1.81$. 1gallon would then be 6.89$ so a full tank is 2.93 x 6.89 = 20.2$...

I can only imagine how fast alternative fuel programs would move if (when??!!) gas goes to over 6 bucks in the US. It would put those oil company lobbiest folks in their place, that's for sure.

it about 2.75 per gallon hear in s.w.ohio but u can get 15 cents off per gallon with to kroger plus card when u spend a c note at there store so it about 2.59 8)

Ran out once. It was spitting and popping and I forgot had switched to reserve before my last stop. I was headed home and managed to exceed the speed limit enough that when it died, I yanked in the clutch and rolled 1/2 mile into the gas station. I had exhausted all the momentum, fortunately the last 300 feet was downhill. ::)
Now always find gas after the switch to reserve since that.

Here in Portland the best deal I can find is $2.54. Given that it was about $1.20 in 2000, you can see where your tax cut went!
