i find the origional rear turn signals esthetically challenged, so i cured them ;D

they are nearly identical to the ones on my harley, these have rounded edges which blended better.

i got them from dennis kirk, they're in the metric book, $40.00 including shipping, (i should have got new shields for our helmets at the same time, free shipping over $100.00 :-/) they come with a gasket that can be used as a pattern to locate your holes, and the wires attatched are plenty long enough. i did move the hole for the wires aft, as the mfr's location ran into the sissy bar mount, i notched the light on the back side for the wires, to avoid pinching. this mod requires the removal and reinstall of the fender struts and seat. the hardest part was locating the rear bolt, as i put it in the origional turn signal mount hole. so i built an eccentric out of a piece 3/4" round stock and cut a 1/4" bolt size notch into it, that kept the bolt located while i found "the place" for the light to sit, i traced the location with a sharpee, removed the light, set the gasket to locate the front bolt hole and wire hole(1/4" @) center punched and drilled. after locating the light, i found that the rear bolt set too high, (it rubbed the fender when mounted), so i traced a notch onto the origional turn signal mounting bung and introduced it to my disc grinders ;D cut it down aprox the depth of the head on the 1/4" bolt, and all clearances are good. there is only two wires per side, i used some heat shrink where the wires leave the fender struts and disappear under the seat. start to finish about four hours, not a difficult mod. tools: 1/4" drill, disc grinder/dremel, 11mm & 12mm wrenchs and sockets.

Never seen turn signals like that before. Looks great!! Wish the sun would come out over here so that I could go out and play with my bike like everyone else...

Azjay,

Does look nice. I got mine at an HD dealer. I would have gotten the same ones you have but got a two for one deal on mine so it was $20. They make a huge difference though don't they. Slim down the back end significantly. 8)

You can get red lenses for those if you wan't, it's legal and they match the brake light.

Side cover ones peel off with hot water. Tank was painted previously so it didn't have stickers on it. I just sanded it down to primer or metal in areas.
