Since the Savage is air cooled - should I worry about my bike getting over heated when it's 95+ out and I'm stuck in traffic?

Also - there is goop oozing out around that little box that sits on the right side just above the brake lever...what is this??

OH and I changed my oil & filter all by myself for the first time and only made a little mess...thank goodness for kitty litter

The brake master cylinder? What kind of goop and from where - around the lid, sight glass, or hose fitting?
