Title: Re: belt wear Post by vroom1776 on 08/09/06 at 09:50:30 I think the life expectancy for belts is at least 40k miles. Not sure on the armor all... should be okay is my guess. |

Title: Re: belt wear Post by Savage_Rob on 08/09/06 at 11:16:43 Personally, I wouldn't put anything on the belt but normal soap and water. When it comes to Armorall and similar products, I've heard they can actually hasten the deterioration of rubber on tires and such so I'd be doubly hesitant about using it on a drive belt. |

Title: Re: belt wear Post by bholly12 on 08/09/06 at 11:20:19 I'd skip the Armor All ..... dirt can stick to the belt, find its way onto the pulleys, & cause wear. If the belt is getting dry rot you should probably replace it. |

Title: Re: belt wear Post by magicfairy on 08/09/06 at 13:34:26 My belt (9000k) developed a horrible squeak after getting very wet then dry a few weeks in a row. Bike shop put on some "belt lube" and problem has gone away. Is this common? |
