Title: dented tank Post by BOWDIER on 08/13/06 at 12:11:57 Just checking to see what you would have done-when I got my s40 delivered a 2 months ago it had a small ding in the tank, about the size of a nickel, with some paint missing down to the metal. The service manage had called and said that my bike was on its way but found the ding while checking it out. said he could order a new tank or give me a store credit. What would you have done, I went with the new tank but still waiting on it. I probably cold cover it with touch up paint but you would still see the dent when you look down at the tank. |

Title: Re: dented tank Post by Reelthing on 08/13/06 at 15:20:54 New tank gets my vote as well - unless the store credit was a lot - say $1,000 might have been a good trade |

Title: Re: dented tank Post by Trippah on 08/13/06 at 15:29:04 Another vote for new tank...and let them install it. Wouldn't hurt to touch up the dent if metal is showing, or have them do it if you live nearby. And yes, if they let u keep the old one- yor golden. Enjoy the ride. |
