Has anyone ever mounted a bicycle carrier to their Savage? Any ideas. If I could pull this off my car would pretty much become obsolete, and I'm all for that. And I'll just tack on a little added question...Any other St. Louis, MO riders on here?

Make your own! I used to live in Santa Cruz, CA (on the coast) and ride a Honda 550/4. I modified the common surfboard rack to fit my bike. I was the only guy in town riding around with his board on board.
