Title: Production Numbers How many per year? Post by Rockin_John on 08/18/06 at 01:55:08 Hello all! My first post in this area of the forum. I'm very curious if anyone has a clue as to how many of these bikes were produced in any given year? (Mine is a 1987, and there seem to be lots of them compared to the other earlier batches.) It might also be good to know how many went to what parts of the world. And as long as I'm asking questions along these lines... I've noticed that there are many designations for variations I suppose. Example LS650F or LS650H. Are the last letters year or signifigant change designations? I did some searching without finding any infor on this, so any help here would be much appreciated! TIA, John |

Post by PerrydaSavage on 08/18/06 at 03:20:26 Not sure of production numbers, but the LS650P designation (mine is an '03 LS650PK3 ...) refers to the pull-back ("P") handlebars, while the LS650F refers to the flat ("F") or drag-bar option. Not sure about the "H" designation though? |

Title: Re: Production Numbers How many per year? Post by necropsy on 08/18/06 at 03:29:22 The K3 on Perry's bike designates a 2003. Mine is a K5 for 2005. Not sure what year the H signifies but it is definitely the year of manufacture. |

Title: Re: Production Numbers How many per year? Post by Tekumseh on 08/18/06 at 14:47:47 Mine has the letters LS 650 NP41A, and it's from 1989. Maybe LS 650 NP would be the right "name" on it. |

Title: Re: Production Numbers How many per year? Post by Tekumseh on 08/19/06 at 01:41:52 Thanks for the info, it made mine an LS 650 K. But there is no K in my chassisnumber. But the 9th letter is a 9 (from 89). |

Title: Re: Production Numbers How many per year? Post by Savage_Rob on 08/19/06 at 18:04:21 I thought this topic was about production numbers, not model numbers. Model numbers are listed on any of several sites like RonAyers.com who have an online parts fiche. |

Title: Re: Production Numbers How many per year? Post by Max_Morley on 08/19/06 at 21:38:07 Seems like way back on Bert's german forum someone came up with production numbers and export numbers to Europe anyway. I think that information section may be gone or in the big archieved file on that forum. Someone once said that each US dealer is allocated 2/yr. but they hold them in a distribution center and a dealer who doesn' want one can allow another dealer to take it. I don't think I've ever seen more than one in any Suzuki dealership I've been in and many don't even have one on the floor. Anchorage Ak dealer had a red one partly assembled on the storage shelves in back when I picked up my S-i-L's black 99. Local dealer had a blue 05 for a long time and I did not see it on the main floor last time I was there, but they do have a downstairs display area also and it may have been moved there. I will ask about it so I can teel the new owner if it sold about FSSNOC. Max |

Hey Bob, You're right, though I found the model cross reference useful, what I really wanted to know was how many of the Savage have been produced in any given production run, and where they ened up exported to. Regards, John |

That's what I thought. And it's Rob - not Bob. I'm a Jr. My Dad is Bob. |
