Title: jump starting a savage Post by billy on 08/22/06 at 14:27:41 Been reading the post here for a long time. Gained much useful info here. Thanks to all. yesterday when I got home I forgot to turn the key off. this morning when I went to leave the battery was dead -duh! I tried to jump it with the car, have done this in the past with sucess. This time nothing. Anybody have any ideas on how to fix this or do i just take it to the dealer and pony up the money. |

Title: Re: jump starting a savage Post by RadarORiley on 08/22/06 at 14:43:13 I'd check to make sure the battery had water in it, and then charge it overnight. I've learned the hard way that they won't take or hold a charge with no water |

Title: Re: jump starting a savage Post by mickthelimey on 08/22/06 at 21:31:17 or you could find a slight incline, take a run along side the bike with it in 2nd gear, get a little speed up and drop the clutch, should start |

this is the push start method i use. with bike in gear roll it backwards as far as you can. this puts the cylynder in proper stroke position. then put in 4th. push pop take off. it''s easier to do in a higher gear, i do it all the time. i'm forever leaving the key on. |
