Just got my new tires on. It's been raining here. (Hooray!) I haven't ridden much. Just wondering what air pressure to you keep in your Metzlers? The psi on the side of the tire reads 42 psi. The reccomended pressure listed on the side of the bike reads 29 front, 32 rear when riding solo.

What do you do?

PSI on tire is max safe, I think; i'd go with the bike manufacturer recommendations. (Presuming they are the same size as OEM).

They are the same size. Right now I have 42 and they don't feel that good.

I run 29 front, 35 rear in my Metzlers but I'm fairly heavy, otherwise I'd run about 33 in the rear. It's a 140/90-15.

I just went out in the garage and changed the pressure to 29 & 32. I'll see how she feels for the morning ride. Thanks. The guy that changed the tires said that Metzler reccomended that you use the number on the tire.

The # on the tire is max cold pressure. I run right at that. The # on the bike is what Suzuki recomends. Suzuki dosen't ride my bike. The tire manufacturer is well aware of the capabilities of their product and what will be the best pressure to optimize the main characteristic of each modle. For example, traction for sport tires, or longevity for touring tires. As long as you are not way off the # on the tire the tire and bead seat should not fail. That being said, it really all comes down to how you want the bike to feel. In my experience the more air pressure the better the control. But again it's all personal preference. :) Just remember, a tiny change in pressure is alot in a tire of that size. A half a pound will be a noticable change.

I still haven't gotten to go on a good ride w/ them. It is like pea soup outside and has been all day. I guess I'll just have to see what I think with the ride. I know there are more of you that ride metzlers. Wonder if there are any more opinions that you would be willing to share.

That is Max PSI for full load. you know, it's for a fully loaded touring bike like a 1200 Gold Wing, about 1,000#.
Not a light cruiser, Suzuki designed the bike, I'll go with what they say!
