No Lester, don't need an account,it was just that Johns last entry said he only had $300 or so,I jusy thought it was a bit miserly concidering we now have over 2000 members, just ONE  BUCK  a peice wouldn't hurt any one.

must agree with 2hip4this' basic comment (if not really some of things he said).

my wife cannot work @ present & when can will only be able to do part time (back & kneee injuries prevent sitting or standing for length of time). My particular situation means I can only work part time - around 15-20 hours a week as a bookkeeper (not exactly brain surgeon's earnings). Though you don't need to know all this, but luckily house is paid off (all 800 square feet of it).

never eat out (can't afford) or drink & live basically hand to mouth (hence will be selling other bike - bought Savage as an economy bike) - a steak (bought when on sale) lasts us both a meal.

so, though I applaud Mick's sentiments, not all of us can come up with $$ - not even $15.

so sorry if I live off $$ of others reading the site - if it got to a pay as you play scenario guess you'd have one less participant.

george

Ok guys get off my a88 ,I'm sure a good percentage of you work for a living,I used to until I was forced to retire at age 65 because I went blind in my left eye,no biggie I still have one left  (right ;), so here I am living on $850 a month, and my rent is $450, what with utilities there is nothing left  on the 3rd week, believe me you eat allot of beans toward the end of the month :'(.
Even with all that I am very happy with my lot, more so because I had enough when I retired to buy a Suzuki Savage,no change.

Come on Dudes, that's is why it calls donation. We donate what we can to keep this great site going. I did my part of donation. You all know that to keep this web site going, John has to pay for the expenses--electricity, wear and tear on his old tired computer and server's fee. So if you can, reach in your pocket and donate; if not, enjoy the ride until some day this site shut down :( because no one has the will to support. :P

not a question of will but more wherewithall, SavageDude, mate.

however, thinking about what Mick said - not his first entry about "anteing up" but one about 2000 X $1 = a good bit of $$ to keep site running for a while (wonder how much it costs per annum?)

so - made my donation too - more than $1, I'm glad to say, but less than $50 (still, least in - very - low double figures - like $10!).

do not want any pat on back for this or any comments - just taking Mick's sentiment about every bit helps & going for it.

incidently - why a tally of donations? can't imagine it's so the people who give some can feel good about themselves in comparison to those who haven't/can't. can see if it's just to confirm receipt of $$ but do we want John to spend time doing this - he wants to ride too!

see idea of sending out notification of receipt also time & $ consuming for him, so suggest leave it as it is.

george :)
