Title: Indicator Lights And Speedometer Post by Kropatchek on 09/27/06 at 05:20:14 New project: How to get rid of the HD style speedometer and indicator lights? Fitted the bicycle computer allready on the steering bar. Also the tachometer is on the steering bar, so far so good. Managed to get an almost new upper triple tree for experimenting. The indicator lights are LED's with build-in resistor so fit to accept 12 VDC. Dimensions: drill 8 mm and approx 30 mm long. Green, blue and 2 yellow ( amber not available) http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/3576/upper3treeef2.jpg (http://imageshack.us) Now for closing of the apperture in the tank there are several options: 1) Highly polished alluminium plate. 2) Weld a steel plate in the hole, bondo and respray (best looking option) 3) Stainles steel plate with cupholder What do you think so far. Title: Re: Indicator Lights And Speedometer Post by Jim_R on 09/27/06 at 06:39:55 Cant you get someone to weld it up with some metal so u can use it for gas? I know it would be hard but I think it would be well worth it. Im sure u can fit at least another 1/2 gallon in there. Nice indicator lights. You always do a great job on ur bike Kropatchek. |

Title: Re: Indicator Lights And Speedometer Post by bentwheel on 09/27/06 at 10:24:52 Good work Kropatchek. Fixing a plate would be the easiest and less expensive way to go, but rather than polished aluminum, how about matching paint with an air brushed design? Because it is a Savage how about a First Nation image? I am envisioning a metric version of the venerable Indian head from the old Indian Motorcycle Company. |

Title: Re: Indicator Lights And Speedometer Post by Savage_Rob on 09/27/06 at 20:08:33 Looks great. Much better than the single red LED I have in mine for my alarm system. Go for the cup holder or maybe even a small compartment with either a hinged or detachable lid for small items. |
