Title: touch up paint matching for Savage
Post by pmanntex on 09/27/06 at 09:20:11

I recently attempted doing some touch ups using Color-Rite's product to match my 01's metallic glacier blue color and am not getting a good match (spray aerosol). Verified this by comparing with paint in the covered portion of the fuel tank so I know that its not from sunlight.

Presently rying to work things out through the company but I am  curious.

Anybody else had experience with touching up or re-painting their savage to match stock colors using Color-Rite or others and was the experience good, bad, or indifferent? ???  Brush on, aerosal, or professional sprayer?

Received response from Color-Rite; they are going to mix a new can and send it to me free, and if that doen't work they'll give me refund.

Also, FYI- they indicated that the combination of their primer and paint should match up to OEM as long as it has not whethered substantially, which I checked-hasn't happened.
