Title: HOT LAVA ORANGE! Post by Lil Em on 09/30/06 at 21:32:08 I thought I'd share this wonderful color that I just painted my bike. My friend who's worked at Maaco for 17 years painted it for $150. Excellent work! The color is from the 2005 Scion XB Limited Edition. Of course Maaco had a bible of colors to choose from and this is the one I chose. I wanted something other than black, red, blue or white. Any opinions? http://w1.bikepics.com/pics/2006/09/30/bikepics-691336-full.jpg http://w1.bikepics.com/pics/2006/09/30/bikepics-691335-800.jpg http://w1.bikepics.com/pics/2006/09/30/bikepics-691388-full.jpg http://w1.bikepics.com/pics/2006/09/30/bikepics-691340-800.jpg |

Title: Re: HOT LAVA ORANGE! Post by Ed_L. on 10/01/06 at 15:55:46 Great choice of color, there is a Scion in my area that has the same paint and always catches my eye when I see it. |

Title: Re: HOT LAVA ORANGE! Post by Fido_the_Cat on 10/01/06 at 17:18:46 That is Orange done the right way. I had to see what HLO looked like. Relly nice. Now, how long did it take, that is bike down time? I can't go weeks without a good ride. This winter I may relax a little and do some mods. |

I've always liked the color orange. I grew up in Texas and went to High School in San Antonio where my school colors were burnt orange, blue and white. I'm also a Longhorns fan along with the Tennessee Volunteers. My Dad is a native of Nashville so that's why I follow the Volunteers. I gave him the parts on a Monday and got them back on Thursday. Not too long! Again this was my friend and he knew how anxious I was to get it back together and running again! :) I'm glad you enjoy it. |

That's cool cuz my husband and I were looking into buying a Scion. I haven't ever seen one that color but when I was looking through Maaco's color book it wasn't until after when I chose the color that I noticed what car it was from. I immediately went home and did a search on the internet for the car so I could get an idea of what my bike would look like. I was happy when I came across this picture. I was pregant during the good riding months and now it's October and time to put the bike away. I'll have to enjoy my bike next year. http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/9/web/2265000-2265999/2265315_5_full.jpg |

Congratz on the new family member and make sure you add some sort of fuel stabilizer to your gas and run the bike for a bit to work it through the system. You don't want varnish in your tank and carb. |

Oh and not that it was unfortunate that I had a baby I meant to say because I was pregnant during the time I could have been riding. I got some riding in but when you have a newborn at home it's not so easy. I rode several times to soccer games and to work. Oh yes. That's my husband's job. He just got a 95' Vulcan that he'll have to tend to and our little boy's dirt bike. I sure love Utah but it sucks when it starts to get cold. Thank heaven that indoor soccer keeps me busy during the cold months. :) |
