Title: new old rider Post by chano on 05/21/07 at 05:44:56 Ive been check'in this site for a few months just waiting to get my ride.Friday i took ownership of an 06 S40 WITH LESS THAN 900 MILES ON IT.I got it for $3500,the dealer wouldn't sell me a new 1 for less than$5,000 out the door.Motorcycles are a hot selling item lately,so the wouldn't neg. on price.anyway i took it out for an hour or so on sat and i love it,and it nice to know i have brothers and sisters with the same interest in wat they ride, plus the all the info to keep them runn'in great! thanx all ;D |

Title: Re: new old rider Post by Paladin on 05/21/07 at 06:33:20 At 33 you're not old -- so are you a new rider, or a returning rider, or just new to the Savage? (I don't care what Suzuki calls 'em, they're still Savages in my book.) Ride dirt before? Ride street before? |

Did the price of the 07 go up that much, or was the dealer a stealer. I bought my 2006 S-40 for $4100 out the door tax, title, plate, last June? I had to wait a day for them to assemble and prep. Hutch |

Title: Re: new old rider Post by verslagen1 on 05/21/07 at 09:09:00 I would suspect over the next couple of years sales will hit a high point due to the changing epa reg's. The good news is there will be alot of used bikes for sale. |

Title: Re: new old rider Post by Paladin on 05/21/07 at 12:35:27 They are talking about tightening up the emissions standards for motorcycles, have been for quite a while. Higher standards will pretty near force manufacturers into liquid cooled / computer controlled fuel injection and the Savage will be discontinued. :'( |

Title: Re: new old rider Post by smokey02 on 05/21/07 at 21:21:30 Hi Chano Welcome to the site. You live close to me, I'm in Cucamonga. 33 is not so old, I'm 61, I was without a bike for 40 years. |

Looks IGzaklee like the "Deal" I got on the 05 I picked up late in the year, as they had it "On Sale". IF I had found this site before I bought it, I would saved a few thousand $$ & got a used one. Tyler Tx is a part of the Empire I guess. |

Title: Re: new old rider Post by drharveys on 05/22/07 at 04:39:02 Here in Missouri we pay our sales tax and registration at the DMV, so I feel that I got a MUCH better deal! ;D Yeah, they don't seem to negotiate a whole lot on the smaller bikes -- still, I think I got a decent trade in on my Hyosung 250. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e204/drharveys/DSC00753.jpg |

First cross your fingers, and then try everything you hear. Just stay away from 100 grit paper :P Bluing is usually all yours when you get some. |

Title: Re: new old rider Post by barry68v10 on 05/22/07 at 07:10:45 My question is: Why try to get rid of blueing? If the bike is runing well, blueing is an indication that your bike is running at or near peak efficiency. |
