Title: Big Problem Post by cFLOW on 06/19/07 at 17:06:30 I have a Carb Problem that I thought I had gotten rid of. Heres how it started I was riding along on the highway and it started to sputter and then without warning it stopped. after sitting on the side of the a minute or two I started up and went on about my buisness only for it to happen again. I cleaned the carb there was alittle gunk build up,and checked the petc0ck:it was clean. I put everything together and it happened again. I have even added an in line filter. I know that this was discussed before but I could not find it. Sorry but could someone help please. |

Title: Re: Big Problem Post by tuxedo on 06/20/07 at 06:59:24 Glad that's fixed. I had the loose negative syndrome once, luckily I always have rubberbands on my wrist. Rubberbanded the negative cable to the post, lol. |

Title: Re: Big Problem Post by cFLOW on 06/21/07 at 10:41:48 is the slide(2) on the inside of the carb supposed to have a little drag or should it be effortless to push up. heres link to image. http://www.bikebandit.com/partsbandit/showschematic.asp?dept_id=707242 |

Title: Re: Big Problem Post by justin_o_guy on 06/21/07 at 10:59:17 Theres a spring inside the slide, pushing it down. |

Title: Re: Big Problem Post by vroom1776 on 06/21/07 at 12:12:19 and it should be very smooth and easy in there. |

Title: Re: Big Problem Post by Reelthing on 06/21/07 at 14:22:18 polish might help - but clean helps for sure - the bore as well |

Title: Re: Big Problem Post by cFLOW on 06/21/07 at 14:35:50 Thats the problem it is clean I just cleaned it and it still is dragging more than i think it should |

Title: Re: Big Problem Post by Reelthing on 06/21/07 at 14:57:56 is it still black or mostly silver ? might use fine grit like 1000 - and no oil on it right? |
|
Title: Re: Big Problem Post by cFLOW on 06/21/07 at 15:34:58 Mostly silver, No oil clean and dry. |
|
Title: Re: Big Problem Post by justin_o_guy on 06/21/07 at 18:37:51 I would most likely pop the top off & pull the spring, so I could tell just how the slide moves. If it is hard & thers no spring, it's the slide.. |
