Title: How Do You Measure RPM When Setting Idle Speed? Post by Digger on 07/05/07 at 20:26:05 For years, I've been setting the idle speed on my dirt bikes and my Savage by ear (no tach). For those of you without tachs mounted on the bike, how do you set your idle speed? TIA! |

Title: Re: How Do You Measure RPM When Setting Idle Speed Post by Reelthing on 07/06/07 at 06:19:02 Tach on the '95 but not the '02 - was fooling around the other day and seems to me a proper idle is set when the head light no longer dims any when you let it idle - looks to be 1100-1200rpm |

Title: Re: How Do You Measure RPM When Setting Idle Speed Post by LANCER on 07/06/07 at 09:03:02 When not using a tach, I listen for a comfortable easy idle. If it gets too low it will sound a bit labored. |
