I looked at the post on making your own saddlebag brackets, but the original picture detailing the dimensions seems to have an error. It shows the height of the brackets below the bend as 12 cm. That comes out to just 4.72 inches. It has to be longer than that. Does anyone have the actual measurement of that part?

It also looks as if those brackets are different than the ones Suzuki currently sells for the S40. The new ones are longer in back than in front. Can someone measure the S40 brackets for me?

Here's my Suzi S40 2005
I measured 5" between top bolts and 7" deep. If you need more info let me know.

Dangill, Also the left bracket sits further out then the right one to clear the beltguard. just like your left shock mount sits further out :)
