Ok so at almost 5k on my rear oem tire... Its almost BALD! thank you VERY much suzuki!! >:( >:(
So anywho, I came across this tire from Kenda and looks really nice, issue is that it says its a tubeless tire?
Can you use our tube system with a tubless? If so when i go for a 140 - 90 -15 size do you have to upgrade your tube?

I'm out of my jurisdiction on tires, but my guess would be that the tube system on the savage wheel has a completely different valve stem setup than on a tubeless wheel/tire.

the wire spokes wheel dictate the need for tubes.

I had a kenda kruz on my front wheel when I bought the bike. Lasted a long time. Didn't have any issues with it. Although I think the D404 walks over cracks a little better. but that may new vs. old.

thanks for the input! so i still have to use innertubes ... now when you used the Kenda Kruz on your front was there any issue using the innertube or was your Kenda Kruz a diff model tire? I guess they have one called K671?

was thinking about going to the darkside of rear tires but dont have the cabbage to do the tire / stonger magnet and vapor ... was worried id try the chain mod while in there! :o

I don't think there's an issue with using inner tubes with any tires.

You CAN use a tube with a so called "tubeless" tire. I believe it was stated before that the only real difference in tubed and tubeless tires was that tubeless tires were a bit stiffer on the side wall. Please correct me if I'm wrong however, don't want to give bad advice from ignorance.

The reason we run tubes on the Savage/S40 is because of our spoked wheels. Spoked wheels (ours anyway) are not sealed like mag wheels are.

It's always a good idea to purchase new tubes and rim strips when replacing tires. Don't pinch pennies on this safety item. In fact most good dealerships (oxymoron alert!) will insist on installing new tubes.

I used to manage a tire dealership. The difference between a tube and tubless is the rubber compound inside the tire. Tube type tires are somewhat porous and will lose pressure whereas tubeless have a nonporous liner molded in. The only potential problem running a tube in tubless tire is possible heat buildup which I shouldn't be an issue at the speeds a savage will do. Like everyone else said you must use a tube in savage spoked wheels. +1 on new tubes.
