Title: The Dumbest thing I have ever heard!!!!!
Post by Chopped on 10/27/08 at 06:58:42

So I have been talking to this guy about His club which will remain nameless! I was really intrested in joining said club but they have a rule that your bike has to be 750cc or higher! The guy had the nerve to tell me that I should swap a bigger motor on my bike!

Just tell him your engine is bored & stroked to 800 cc!   ;)

Or, just tell him you'll put the rear cylinder on for club events so it'll be a 1300!

Heck, if it's a "cruiser club" you'll have no trouble "keeping up" on a Savage.  If it's a sport bike club, you have no business joining with a Savage!

Obviously, the club is for morons of a similar nature.

They are the bigger is better crowd and you'll not fit in.

How can you keep up with the Jones' if you keep sayin' F... the Jones' and go your own way?

;D

I guess I can understand why people would want to focus a club on a certain type, style, manufacturer, etc of MC, but to say the size has to be over 750 seems kinda arbitrary. Why not over 1000 CC (does the club president ride an 800)? Are they trying to keep out the 600 sport bikes? If so, they really need to watch out for the liter (and up) group. Anyway, it's your decision to step into line if you want to join the club, or not.

What is the basis for this club?

What you need is a bigger sticker,...say an 850cc sticker...
Oooooh!....just think of the extra horsepower you'll have.....

Yeah... Maybe I can just challenge him to a 14 mile and run the pants off his bagger! Just to show that my bike can keep up and out perform!

You may have to buy a 750 or bigger to join the club you are referring to.
But if you like to join a rider club, we all know that the LS650/S40 is doing fine as a rider bike.
Of course each bike has a characteristic of its own. It is hard to find a bike that has everything: comfort, power, ease of maintenance, gas mileage, maneuvrability, looks, price, travel range ...
But I am confident that the LS650/S40 can meet all these requirement at the middle line or exceed a little bit. It may not be a big comfortable powerfull eye catching bike to travel long distance, but anything can be done with this bike with a little bit of planning.

I told my wife of 25 years, that, if things don't heat up in budoir real soon, that I'm gonna go find me some strange. She said that if I could manage another inch or two, that I'd find some strange right here!  >:(
I think she's still hanging around just to taunt me.  :-/

I tried joining a club here recently, turns out you have to have a car to get in it! Haha, bored and stroked to 800cc, that would be nice. 30 years ago a 650cc was a monster engine. I say EFF THE JONES' and keep on thumpin. I've got a Jardine slash on mine and get plenty of respect from the harley and vtx guys. Also cause they can't keep up w/ me up to the speed limit, then their top end gets me. I can ride a wheelie for 30+ feet on my savage, they've got nothing on that. Fart in their general direction ;D

SO...if somebody shows up with a restored Norton Commando or Triumph Bonneville they aren't riding a bike that's good enough to be in that club? Or if they have a BMW GS650, it's still not big enough? And God forbid that someone with a classic Honda CB750 Four wants to join this "elite" group!

But a Sportster 883 is fine with them...Hmmm.

Find a real club if you truly want to be in one. Those are posers, not bikers, and not motorcyclists.

So these guys would turn down Marlon Brando and Steve McQueen....
I'd find me a better club....

I put a 600 decal on my 2003 Z-1000 when I got it, was the first year they had the new style and no one knew what it was... the first few weeks every one asked if it was a 600 as it was small and compact, so I put a 600 decal on it and fooled ALOT of people when the 125 hp kicked in..  ::)

When I get my Savage up and going I will leave it nameless and make them wonder if its a 1950's something  ;)

Most Hardly people have this mind set that they have so much power and stuff its not even funny, hell I'm getting a Savage thats got 30 hp so I'm not a power junkie but lets get real, if you got a bike thats 800+ lbs, 50-60 hp and turns like a barge and cost $15,000 - $50,000 dont cut down my Jap Crap that has 120 hp, 400 lbs, stops on a dime and turns like the wind and only cost $8000 and needs hardly any maintenance....

Hey the Hardlies have Jap carbs/Fi, forks, electronics and and,,, so no its NOT American Made.... its American assembled !

Hardly rant off.
